Disc golf’s biggest payday in history is about to be handed out. The 2026 season wraps up with the Powerball Cup, a season-ending championship with a projected $350,000 purse, the largest in the sport’s history, and it’s shaping up to be one of the most competitive finishes disc golf has seen.
Here’s what’s on the line and who’s chasing it.
MPO: Buhr’s chase for history
Gannon Buhr heads into the finale with a commanding lead, over 480 points ahead of the field, as he goes for his third straight points title. He’s also chasing a single season win record, having already picked up seven Tour victories this year.
The real drama is behind him. Ricky Wysocki has bounced back from a winless 2025 with three Tour wins this season and sits in second. Calvin Heimburg, last year’s Powerball Cup champion, is defending his title from third. Isaac Robinson, Adam Hammes, and Anthony Barela round out a tightly packed group still very much in the mix.
FPO: a three way battle
The women’s race is even tighter. Ohn Scoggins leads by just 25 points on the strength of three Tour wins, but Silva Saarinen is right on her heels with five victories in what’s been called the biggest breakout season in FPO this year. Holyn Handley, Missy Gannon, and Eveliina Salonen are all close enough to make a run at the top spot.
How it works
Most of the field earns its spot the hard way: 28 of 32 MPO players and 18 of 20 FPO players qualify automatically through season standings, with the remaining spots decided in playoff rounds. Once the Cup starts, a starting stroke advantage rewards the top finishers in the standings, so where you land now still matters even though the championship itself decides the final result.

The Powerball Cup runs October 15 through 18 in Lynchburg, Virginia, with the MPO and FPO champions each walking away with $50,000.
